Introduction
Midea is one of the world’s largest home appliance manufacturers, operating in over 150 countries and recognized for combining technology, innovation, and design across its product portfolio.
As its e-commerce operations expanded, the brand decided to upgrade its digital infrastructure, migrating from VTEX IO to VTEX Fast Store to gain more speed, flexibility, and scalability.
The Challenge
The main challenge was to ensure that the technology transition preserved the authority built over the years while maintaining organic performance.
Migrations of this scale can significantly impact SEO, often leading to drops in organic traffic, loss of visibility, broken links, and revenue decline if not properly managed.
The Strategy
The migration was supported by a detailed, growth-oriented plan to ensure a smooth and secure transition.
More than 60 actions were executed throughout the process, including redirect mapping, technical adjustments for crawling and indexing, validation of critical pages, and continuous monitoring during the transition.
This approach enabled the team to prioritize strategic initiatives and implement technical improvements along the way—ensuring stability and consistent performance after the new platform launch.
Results
The migration was completed on July 1, 2025. Within just 60 days, the results showed significant growth in organic visibility.
Traffic and Visibility Growth:
- +92% in clicks
- +90% in impressions
Keyword Performance:
- +45% increase in ranking keywords
- +29% growth in Top 3 Google positions
Revenue Impact: (Comparing July–August 2025 vs. the same period in 2024)
- +30% increase in organic revenue
- +25% growth in organic transactions
Strategic Conclusion
This project demonstrates that a well-executed migration can go beyond a platform change and become a growth opportunity.
Through strong technical strategy, detailed planning, and cross-team collaboration, Midea strengthened its digital presence and significantly expanded its organic visibility.
